PDP Campaign Council to Appeal Court Judgement, Vows to Deliver Asue Ighodalo

Abuja— The People's Democratic Party (PDP) Edo State Governorship Campaign Council has dismissed the recent Federal High Court judgment regarding its primary election, calling it "child's play" and expressing confidence that the decision will be overturned on appeal.

Chairman of the PDP Edo State Governorship Campaign Council, Ahmadu Fintiri, who is also the Governor of Adamawa State, made this assertion on Saturday during the inaugural meeting of the council held in Abuja.

Fintiri emphasized the council's commitment to ensuring that their candidate, Asue Ighodalo, emerges victorious in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

"We strongly believe that the judgment of the Federal High Court will not stand in the Court of Appeal," Fintiri declared. He underscored that the council is undeterred by the initial ruling and is focused on its strategy to win the election.

Fintiri highlighted the robust support within the PDP for Ighodalo, who he described as a candidate with the vision and capability to lead Edo State to greater heights. He called on party members and supporters to remain united and resolute in their efforts to secure a PDP victory in the state.

The PDP campaign council's response comes in the wake of a contentious primary election that has seen various legal challenges. Despite the Federal High Court's decision, the party remains steadfast in its determination to push forward with Ighodalo's candidacy.

The meeting in Abuja served as a platform for the campaign council to outline its plans and strategies for the forthcoming election. Members expressed optimism about their prospects, citing the party's strong grassroots network and the appeal of their candidate's platform.

As the legal battle continues, the PDP campaign council has assured its supporters that it will pursue all necessary legal avenues to ensure that justice prevails and that Ighodalo is given the opportunity to contest and win the governorship of Edo State.

With the appeal process underway, the political landscape in Edo State remains dynamic, as parties and candidates gear up for what promises to be a fiercely contested election.
