Police Commence Investigation to Unravel Killers of UNIBEN Graduate

Edo State– The Edo State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation into the tragic death of Miss Glory Adekolore Idowu, a recent graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN). 

Miss Idowu, who had completed her studies just two months ago, was allegedly raped and murdered while she was in the process of completing her clearance formalities at the university.

According to initial reports, Miss Idowu was last seen on campus handling administrative tasks related to her graduation. Her sudden disappearance raised concerns among friends and family, leading to a frantic search that ultimately ended in the discovery of her body. The circumstances surrounding her death have prompted the police to treat the case as a homicide, with the added severity of the rape allegations.

In a statement, the Edo State Police Command assured the public that no effort would be spared in bringing the perpetrators to justice. "We have commenced a thorough investigation into the killing of Miss Glory Adekolore Idowu," said the command's spokesperson. 

"Our team is working diligently to gather evidence, and we are committed to ensuring that those responsible for this heinous act are apprehended and prosecuted."

The death of Miss Idowu has sent shockwaves through the university community and the entire state. Fellow students and faculty members have expressed their grief and outrage over the incident, calling for increased security measures on campus to protect students, especially during critical periods such as graduation clearance.

UNIBEN’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami, also addressed the media, extending condolences to the family of the deceased and condemning the act in strong terms. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own, Miss Glory Adekolore Idowu," said Professor Salami. 

"The university administration is fully cooperating with the police investigation, and we are reviewing our security protocols to prevent such tragedies in the future."

As the investigation continues, the police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in solving the case. "We urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. Your cooperation could be crucial in solving this case and ensuring justice for Miss Idowu," the police spokesperson added.
