Obaseki splashes millions of Naira on Edo Queens

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki generously honored the triumphant Edo Queens Football Club at a grand Homecoming reception in Benin City on Thursday. 

During the ceremony, he surprised the players with individual financial gifts of #1000000, while the coaches received a sum of #5000000. 

Governor Obaseki commended the team for their hard work and patriotism and pledged continuous state support for the team, even beyond his tenure as governor. He encouraged the players to build on their success and not to relent in their efforts.

This event marked a historic moment for the Edo Queens as they clinched the NWFL Premiership title for the first time. The final match, filled with drama, saw the Edo Queens facing off against the Rivers Angels in a battle for the championship. 

Obaseki's generous gesture at the Homecoming reception further highlighted the government's commitment to supporting and celebrating the achievements of the state's sports teams.
