Covid 19: Famous Actress, Funke Akindele Bello arrested over Lockdown Order

The Police in Lagos said Funke Akindele Bello has been arrested for contravening the lockdown order issued by the state government, which was one of the measures to contain and curtail the spread of corona virus pandemic currently ravaging the world.

The Police acted proactively to a viral video trending on social media which, according to the Command's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, drew the attention of law enforcement agency and promptly arrested the convener of the gathering, Funke

Meanwhile, two other persons prominently shown in the video, Azeez Fashola (a.k.a Naira Marley) and Funke's husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello (a.k.a. JJC Skillz), have been urged to report themselves at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti-Lagos, Monday, April 6, 2020 or be declared wanted.

In a press statement issued by the PPRO today, Elkana said: "The attention of the Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons, mainly in the entertainment industry, in an Estate along Ajah/Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos, celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband.

"Police detectives from the State CID, Yaba were promptly drafted to the location. Funke Akindele was arrested", the PPRO said, adding that, while investigation was ongoing, efforts were being intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom were Azeez Fashola (a.k.a Naira Marley) and Abdul Rasheed Bello (a.k.a. JJC Skillz)

Bala further stated that, "They are, in their best interests, urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday, 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted".
