21 Groups Endorse Ize-Iyamu As Edo State Prepares For A Total Lockdown

Political groups in Edo state are scrambling to endorse the front line gubernatorial aspirant in Edo forthcoming elections, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The groups in separate statements said Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has shown exemplary leadership in the outbreak of the coronavirus in the state.

The political groups are from the three senatorial districts.

A group, The Voice Of Edo Central, TVEC in a statement sent from Uromi and signed by its chairman, James Ailemen said the group was endorsing Ize-Iyamu because of his positive response since the outbreak of the COVID-19.

We have always known Pastor Ize-Iyamu to have a large heart but today he has proven he is worth having as a leader.


Edo State needs a governor that is proactive to its citizen's welfare, security and health insurance and that is what we call a responsive government.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu is the only one that can guarantee a better Edo for us and our coming generation.

Today we are joining hands with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to move Edo State forward.

Another group from the State said 19 groups in Edo North have come together to endorse Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, they claim his response to the COVID-19 has given rise to the endorsement.

The amalgamated group, Joint Action Movement For Pastor Ize-Iyamu.JAMP has directed all its members across Edo North to start working for the actualization of Pastor Ize-Iyamu as the next Governor of the State.

According to its protem president Comrade Ali Ibrahim Baba, Ize-Iyamu's influx of professional services to his outreach to the people amid the coronavirus outbreak was novel.

Pastor Osagie Ize- Iyamu has demonstrated that Edo state can move forward, his response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the State has simply ascertained how a leader should react to emergencies.

Ize-Iyamu has shown that indeed leadership is a call to serve.

Seeing his amiable wife, Prof Idia Ize-Iyamu in Edo North distributing food bags to our people moved a lot of us to tears.

We need a compassionate family at Dennis Osadebe Avenue and to this, we held a meeting last night on our WhatsApp platforms and have come to the conclusion that Pastor Ize-Iyamu should be supported as the next governor of Edo State.

His selfless service is what Edo State needs to move forward.

Another group in the State, Alliance for Youth Awareness, AYA in a separate statement issued by its chairman, Hon. Samuel Ojo, and Secretary, Prince Kelvin Ekpen, also declared that youths in the party, cutting across the 18 local government areas of the state, had unanimously endorsed the choice of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the party’s flag-bearer in the coming governorship election.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu's rapid endorsement by political groups is not coming as a surprise.

Aside from his daily awareness campaign on basic health hygiene on the COVID-19, Ize-Iyamu has reached out to over 4000 families delivering food bags consisting of rice, beans,indomie,garri etc.

Meanwhile, reports reaching our news desk indicates the state is preparing for total lockdown.
