The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a 24-member
Transition Committee to collaborate with the outgoing administration of
Governor Godwin Obaseki in Edo State.
This announcement was made in a letter dated October 14,
2024, signed by Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, the APC Chairman of Edo State, and
addressed to Governor Obaseki.
In the letter, a copy of which was obtained by Uptown Press,
Tenebe acknowledged the receipt of Governor Obaseki's request for the
Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and the APC to form a transition
team.
The letter emphasised the party's commitment to ensuring a
smooth and effective handover process, stating:
“We look forward to a smooth and effective collaboration
with our 24-member Committee, headed by Chief Pius Odubu as Chairman, for
meaningful discussions that will lead to a seamless transition process.”
The committee is expected to work closely with Obaseki's administration in facilitating the handover to the incoming government.
Among
the notable members of the committee are prominent political figures, academics,
and professionals, including Dr. Pius Odubu, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and Prof.
Oyaziwo Aluede.
