Former Edo Council Boss Lauds Governor Okpebholo For Inclusive Governance, Developmental Strides

Hon. Crosby Osadolor Eribo, the former Chairman of Egor Local Council and a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, has praised Governor Okpebholo for fostering an inclusive administration.

As a prominent Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egor Local Government Area and the party’s candidate for the Egor/Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, Eribo commended the governor for involving individuals from diverse political backgrounds in his government.

Eribo, who has been a key figure in the APC in the State, acknowledged Governor Okpebholo’s efforts in building a united and effective government. “Rather than alienating people, he has embraced members of the opposition, creating a united and effective government,” he said, emphasising the governor’s inclusive approach.

Reflecting on Governor Okpebholo’s transition from the legislative arm to the executive, Eribo said, “Never judge a book by its cover,” he remarked, admitting that the governor had proven his critics wrong. “People doubted his political acumen, but he has demonstrated a firm grasp of governance.”

A key area where Okpebholo has made significant strides is in the revitalisation of the Edo Line Transport Company, a move Eribo described as a strategic economic decision aimed at generating revenue for the state. “It’s not just about purchasing vehicles; it’s about long-term economic planning. He has business sense and is planning for the future, not just making short-term investments,” Eribo explained.

Governor Okpebholo has also prioritised infrastructure development, particularly road construction and environmental improvements. “Roads that were long neglected are now receiving attention,” Eribo said. “Additionally, new equipment has been acquired for waste management, showing his commitment to a cleaner Edo.”

He said despite the lack of a formal handover note from the previous administration, Okpebholo has wasted no time in addressing critical issues. Eribo dismissed suggestions that the governor was working without guidance, stating, “Some might say he is working blindly, but that is not the case. He has a clear vision for the State.”
