Katsina: Man Loses Five Children to Bomb Explosion in Farm

This may not be the best of times for one Alhaji Adamu of Yammawa Village in Malumfashi Local Government Council Area of Katsina state as he lost five children to a bomb explosion in a farm.


Crime Puzzle gathered that five other children sustained a varying degree of injuries in the blast that occured today, July 18, 2020 in a farm, belonging to one Alhaji Hussaini Mai Kwai, situated within Malumfashi LGA of the state.

The deceased children were said to have gone to the farm to cut grasses to graze their domestic animals when they met their untimely death, while the six injured ones were relaxing under a tree.

Disclosing this sad incident in a press release, Katsina State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Gambo Isah said that at about 11:30hrs, The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Malumfashi reported that a loud sound was heard inside the farm of one Alhaji Hussaini Mai Kwai.

According to the PPRO, "On receipt of the information, the DPO led Operation Puff Adder to the scene where there was a suspected case of Bomb explosion, which killed five young children of one Alhaji Adamu of Yammawa Village, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state. The explosion also injured six other children who were sitting under the tree inside the farm.

Gambo stated further that the injured children have been evacuated to Malumfashi General Hospital for treatment, adding that the scene has been condoned off by detectives from Explosives Ordinance Department (EOD) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while investigation into the incident was being carried out.
