From Elias Inaede,

An All Progressives Congress (APC) Stalwart and former Supervisory Councillor for Education in Etsako Central local government, Hon.Pastor Thomas Celestine Okwokhai, has said that the direct Primary method adopted by the National leadership of the Party was one of the ways to test the Popularity and performance of public servants.

Hon.Okwokhai, made this known Wednesday in an interview with newsmen in Fugar, the administrative headquarters of Etsako Central local government.

According to him, direct Primary helps the party members to access the performance of an incumbent, adding that anyone opposing the method has lost the Support of the people of the State.

While accusing  Edo state governor,Mr.Godwin Obaseki of allenating the party members from his Government, Hon.Pastor Okwokhai, said the hour of reckoning was now for the governor to give account of his stewardship to the people of the state.

On the claim by the deputy governor,Rt.Hon.Comrade Philip Shaibu while appearing on African Independent Television (AIT) , last week that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress was seeking for third tenure through Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu,Hon.Pastor Okwokhai said the governor and his deputy have been rejected by Edo people.

The Cleric, asserted that no  reasonable Politician uses unguarded statement as the governor is doing, stressing that the actions of the governor and his deputy were embarrassing to Edo people.

He commended the spirit of Sportspmanship of the Progressives APC govenorship Aspirants by Endorsing Pastpr Ize Iyamu, stressing that the endorsement still stands.

He maintained that the governor of a state is not the party leader in the State.

He said Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu was on a mission to rescue the people of the state from Mal administration, adding that the party members should reject Obaseki at the primaries come June 22.

On inauguration of the Edo State House of Assembly at an ungodly hour, the former Supervisor for Education said there is time  for doing government business as enshrined in the Nigeria Constitution and the statute books of the Country.

He maintained, that the deliberate refusal of the governor to issue a fresh proclamation letter would cost him his second tenure.

Hon.Okwokha, said there was need for collaboration among the party members  to form a formidable force against the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) ahead the General election slated for September 19 this year.

The Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC),  governorship primaries will hold on  June 22 this month.
