Why we retire nine Directors- FIRS
The Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) has disclosed on Monday why it retired nine Directors.
In a statement issued by the Director Communications and Liaison Mr.Abdulahi Ismaila Ahmad, he said the management took the decision to pave way for career progression of the younger Staff who are stagnated in their career line. Some directors have served more than ten years and they are causing stagnation in career progression of the younger Staff who also possess the requisite qualifications.
FIRS denied that the decision was based on religious or tribal afflictions. He said the board members as it stands now comprises of two Yoruba, two Igbo, two Northern minority tribe and in all there are four Christians and three Muslims the Management team.
"Some Staff had taken some promotion examination and passed but couldn't be promoted. The affected Staff and their Union had complained to the Management on it"
"The Management in its wisdom retired those nine Directors to allow the young staff progress in their career", he said
