Governor Ihedioha sets to tackle submerging of building structure in IMSU

His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has visited the Imo State University to assess the level of damage caused by flood to the Institution.

The Vice Chancellor Prof.  (Mrs) Adaobi Victoria Obasi led other principal officers of the institution to receive the governor and his entourage at the Senate building.

The elated Governor who was all smiles as he addressed Imo Stars explained that his unofficial visit to IMSU stems from the Vice Chancellor's visit to his office two weeks ago requesting that he come see IMSU students.

The Students Electoral Commission (SEC), Confederation of Faculty Presidents (CONFAP) and SUG candidates as well as Imo Stars were all on ground to catch a glimpse of the "Green Cap" Governor.

Governor Ihedioha who made a banter about IMSU forthcoming SUG poll said that he actually came to assess the flooding challenges ravaging Nwaebere and Owerri. He furthered that he also came to assess the level of work as regards the TETFUND sponsored projects in IMSU.

He also instructed the VC to set up a committee of engineer lecturers and staff to tackle problems of submerging building structures.

He promised that Imo State ENTRACO will set up a department in IMSU to be in charge of the environment up-keep.

The Governor forthwith set up a 5-student committee to be headed by Prof. Jude Njoku. The committee saddled with the responsibility of articulating the problems raised by the students as well as possible solutions will interface with the Vice Chancellor.

He charged Imo Stars to be good students and ambassadors of the state.
