In a recent live stream on Stationhead, Nicki Minaj revealed her favourite women in the music industry, highlighting a select group of powerhouse artists. The rap icon played tracks from Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande, sharing her admiration for each of them.

Minaj, who has previously collaborated with Swift, Rihanna, and Grande on chart-topping tracks, spoke warmly of her musical peers. While fans were pleased with Minaj’s choices, some pointed out notable absences from her list, including Beyoncé, with one fan tweeting: “Notice how she didn’t say Beyoncé,” suggesting a possible reference to Minaj’s past public feud with Jay-Z concerning Lil Wayne’s exclusion from the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.

Despite the absence of some industry giants, many fans expressed their approval of Minaj’s selections. One fan wrote: "I like all of those artists too. They’re not my top faves but I get why Nicki would choose them."

This week, Taylor Swift dominated headlines after being named the most influential artist of 2024 by Luminat, a leading industry analytics company. Swift, who had an extraordinary year, topped streaming and album sales charts, and even achieved billionaire status, largely due to her ongoing tour and the success of her latest album. Her influence has undoubtedly left a mark on the music scene.

However, Minaj’s live stream was not the only headline making news this week. The rapper is currently embroiled in a serious legal battle following a lawsuit filed by her former day-to-day manager, Brandon Garrett. Garrett claims that Minaj assaulted him after an April 2024 concert in Detroit, an incident he says led to both physical and emotional harm.

Garrett, represented by prominent trial lawyer Thomas Feher, is seeking damages as the legal proceedings continue. Minaj and her representatives have vehemently denied the allegations, maintaining their stance that the claims are unfounded.

As the case unfolds, Minaj remains one of the most talked-about figures in music, whether it’s for her latest musical tributes or her ongoing legal troubles.
