Five individuals accused of stealing Milo products worth N25 million were granted bail by an Ota Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The accused—Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51)—are facing charges of conspiracy and theft.

Prosecutor Abdulkareem Adaraloye informed the court that the alleged offences occurred on October 13, 2020, at Agbara. The stolen goods, a truckload of Milo products, reportedly belonged to Nestle Company. The prosecutor added that the actions of the defendants violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of Ogun State’s Criminal Code Laws, 2006.

All five accused entered a plea of not guilty. Presiding Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa set bail at N500,000 for each defendant, requiring two sureties each in the same amount. The court stipulated that the sureties must provide verifiable addresses and meet other standard conditions.

The case was adjourned to a later date for trial. Meanwhile, the defendants remain under strict bail conditions as investigations continue.
