Five arraigned for stealing Milo worth N25m in OgunOur reporter
Five individuals accused of stealing Milo products worth N25 million were granted bail by an Ota Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The
accused—Temidire Ramon (35), Aminu Yusuf (26), Olusola Opadare (35), Oludayo
Adeleye (38), and Amodu Jimoh (51)—are facing charges of conspiracy and theft.
Prosecutor
Abdulkareem Adaraloye informed the court that the alleged offences occurred on
October 13, 2020, at Agbara. The stolen goods, a truckload of Milo products,
reportedly belonged to Nestle Company. The prosecutor added that the actions of
the defendants violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of Ogun State’s Criminal Code
Laws, 2006.
All five
accused entered a plea of not guilty. Presiding Magistrate O.A. Onagoruwa set
bail at N500,000 for each defendant, requiring two sureties each in the same
amount. The court stipulated that the sureties must provide verifiable
addresses and meet other standard conditions.
The case was
adjourned to a later date for trial. Meanwhile, the defendants remain under
strict bail conditions as investigations continue.
