Pastor Killed by Suspected Kidnappers in Kaduna State

Tragedy struck Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State as suspected kidnappers killed Rev. Thomas Danjuma Gaku, a prominent pastor of Haske Baptist Church, Kallah-Rimau.

According to reports, gunmen stormed Rev. Gaku's residence, abducting him to an unknown location. A few days later, his body was found, marking the end of a distressing period for his loved ones and community members.



Rev. Gaku, a respected figure within his church, served as the pastor of Haske Baptist Church and held the role of moderator for the Rimau Baptist Association. His untimely death has left the congregation and wider community in mourning.

In honor of his life and service, Rev. Gaku will be laid to rest on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Haske Baptist Church, Kallah-Rimau. Family members, friends, and church members are expected to gather to pay their last respects.

Hannah Mathew Ocheido, a family member, expressed her sorrow on social media. “You fought gallantly, and mortality has put on immortality. Rest and reign now, MARTYRED IN GLORY with our Lord, till we meet again at His feet. Adieu, big brother, Revd Thomas Danjuma Gaku,” she wrote in a heartfelt tribute.

The death of Rev. Gaku is a painful reminder of the on-going security challenges in Kaduna State, where communities continue to grapple with incidents of violence and abduction.
