Car accident leaves Super Eagles’ star, Boniface missing in Club’s training session
Bayer Leverkusen's in-form striker, Victor Boniface, missed Monday's training session on October 21 due to a car accident that occurred over the weekend.
The accident came just hours after Boniface's heroic
performance in Leverkusen's Bundesliga match against Frankfurt on Saturday,
where he netted the decisive goal.
Boniface was reportedly on his way to the airport to pick up
friends when the crash happened. Fortunately, the striker only sustained minor
injuries to his left hand.
Despite the relatively mild nature of his injuries, his
availability for the upcoming Champions League fixture against Brest later this
week is uncertain.
Club officials are considering giving Boniface a short break
to allow him to fully recover from the shock of the accident and his injuries,
with a potential return to the squad for next weekend's Bundesliga match. While
fans are hopeful for his swift recovery, the priority remains the player's
health and well-being.
