Parents Stage Peaceful Protest at Apostle Chibuzor's Residence Over Invalidation of Benin Republic University Certificates

In a bid to secure the future of their children, no fewer than 650 students and parents gathered peacefully at the residence of HRM King Apostle Chibuzor, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM).

The protest, according to report was in response to the recent decision by the Nigerian federal government to invalidate degree certificates issued to Nigerian students by universities in the neighbouring Benin Republic and Togo.

The protestors, including parents whose children are enrolled at ESM University in Benin Republic, appealed to Apostle Chibuzor for assistance.

They urged the revered cleric to intercede with the government, expressing concerns that the decision would jeopardize the future of many Nigerian youths who have pursued higher education in these institutions.

Many of the students affected by the government's decision are beneficiaries of Apostle Chibuzor's scholarship scheme, which has supported numerous underprivileged students in their pursuit of higher education abroad.

The General Overseer of OPM confirmed that due diligence was conducted in collaboration with Nigeria's Ministry of Education before the students were enrolled at ESM University. He emphasized that the education and future of these students should not be compromised by the government's declaration.

The protesters called on the Nigerian government to reconsider its decision, urging them to recognize the legitimacy of universities in Benin Republic.

They argued that this recognition is crucial for ensuring the continuity of education for Nigerian students and preventing the potential derailment of their academic and professional futures.
