Donald Trump Convicted On All 34 Charges In ‘Hush Money’ Trial

Former President Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 United States election.

The unanimous decision was reached by a 12-person jury following two days of deliberations in the highly publicized trial.

The charges revolved around a $130,000 payment made by Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen to Daniels in the final weeks of the 2016 presidential campaign in exchange for her silence regarding an alleged sexual encounter with Trump years earlier. Prosecutors argued that Trump fabricated records to cover up the reimbursement to Cohen, potentially violating campaign finance laws.

The jury sided with prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's office, agreeing that Trump had engaged in a widespread effort to conceal potential scandals and undermine the integrity of the 2016 election. Throughout the trial, Trump had pleaded not guilty, and his defense maintained that the payment was intended to prevent personal embarrassment rather than being an illegal campaign contribution.

“Our whole country is being rigged right now,” CNN quoted Trump as telling reporters after leaving the courtroom.

“This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent.”
