Emmanuel Amunike expected to be announced as the new head coach of the Super Eagles?

Following Jose Peseiro's exit, Uptown Press has learned that, Emmanuel Amunike is expected to be named the head coach of the Nigeria National Team.

According to multiple reports, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF reportedly held talk with Emmanuel Amunike to take over the Super Eagles Job ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

The Federation appointed the Head of the Technical Department as the Interim boss till new coach is employed.

Amunike as a coach has won the  FIFA under 17 tournament in Chile 2015 and also achieved the uphill task of qualifying Tanzania for their first AFCON tournament in 2019.

He has also coached Julius Berger of Lagos,Ocean Boys of Brass, El - Khartoum, Misr Makkassa of Egypt and several other clubs sides.

He was also the assistant coach of Super Eagles.
