Edo State announces Monday 31st for resumption of JSS 3 students

The Edo State government has announced Monday 31st, August, 2020 for the resumption of academic work for all JSS3 students in Public and Private Schools in the State prior to conduct of Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The government made this known in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Education, Barrister Jimoh Ijegbai and made available to this blog.

The statement reads:

This is to inform Public School principals of Junior Secondary Schools, Private School Proprietors and the General Public, that following the earlier directive of the Federal Ministry of Education on the reopening of certificate classes and the approval of Edo State Government to conduct Basic Education Certificate Examination for JSS3, all JSS3 students in Public and Private Schools in the State are by this announcement, directed to resume for academic activities prior to the conduct of the Basic Education Certificate Examination on Monday 31st of August 2020 prior to the conduct of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)

PLEASE NOTE: only JSS students are to resume for academic activities while all other students are to stay at home till further notice.

School Principals, proprietors of Private schools and other relevant stakeholders are requested to comply strictly with all NCDC COVID 19 guidelines and protocol to prevent the spread of the virus amongst students.

Meanwhile, entry forms for the entrance examination into the six Model Secondary Schools in Edo State are available for collection in the Exams Department of the Ministry of Education and offices of Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs)  in all Local Government Areas of Edo State.

Parents and Guardians are to take note.
