Edo Council boss restrategises to get Obaseki re-elected

As part of the drive towards the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, the Executive Chairman of Owan West Council, Hon. Frank Ilaboya, held meeting with over 50 elders spread across the 10 units of Ward 10 (Uzebba), the Council Chairman's ward. The meeting was held at the Chairman’s residence yesterday evening.


Hon. Ilaboya noted that the meeting became necessary in order to get their buy in and also galvanize support from their homes and their different units for Obaseki’s re-election come September 19 governorship election.

He added that as elders in the ward, they command great influence and have ability in reaching out to those under them in order to meet up with high level of success in the forthcoming election. 
“The purpose of today’s meeting is first and foremost to appreciate you for always delivering ward 10 in all the elections we contested. 
“This is another opportunity to prove that Ward 10 is ready for Obaseki/Shaibu come Sept 19th. As always, I assure of my utmost support to achieve this and together we shall achieve victory.
“So, I urge you to go back home for serious mobilization of your family, your unit and others in the ward. Let us make it *"Operation Total Victory"* for PDP in ward 10.”

Hon. Obas Ekeinde, a prominent PDP stalwart in the LGA, while speaking, expressed optimism that ward 10 was ready for victory, considering the number and caliber of elders that graced the meeting.
He appealed to them to display utmost degree of patience on election day in order to have their votes count, as a situation where eligible voters fail to return to their polling unit after accreditation does not help chances of victory.
He stressed that, "the Council Chairman hails from Ward 10, as there is need to support and give him every needed support to win the ward with landslide and the LGA at large.
"We will vote and ensure our votes count."

The wife of the Council Boss, Mrs Patience Azegbe Ilaboya, thanked the elders for honouring the invitation and assured them that, God will see them through and give PDP victory.
She commended the women for their continuous support, describing them as major stakeholders in elections.

Responding on behalf of the elders, Mr. Vincent Aideoloje, assured the Council Boss that PDP will win the election. He said, with Chairman's invitation, they have resolved to begin mobilization for the re-election of the Governor that has brought smiles to the faces of pensioners and workers in Edo State, saying, they will speak with one voice and  ensure victory for the Governor and his deputy, come September 19.

Similarly, the PDP ward 10 woman leader, Mrs. Loveth Uduaghele, said they were happy and encouraged with Chairman's leadership style, which has endeared many to resolve to work towards the victory of this current administration.
She lauded Mrs. Ilaboya, the wife of the Council Chairman for promoting the course of women in the LGA through her numerous empowerment programmes.

The Chairman later hosted the elders to sumptuous meal and entertainment as they joyfully departed the meeting.
