Edo 2020: Afemai vanguard condemns atrocities of political thugs

...fingers State-Sponsored access to illegal arms.

An Umbrella of Afemai APC Youths Afemai Advocate for Development Initiative (a.k.a VANGUARD) has condemned the worrisome State-Sponsored Political thuggery in Edo-North, which recently claim an innocent life at Jattu,Etsako-West LGA. This emanated from a callous celebration over an Appeal court suspension of Oshiomhole as APC  National Chairman. 

ln a statement made available to this blog on Thursday, the group stated that political  thugs took over some streets of Jattu, harassing law abiding citizens, thereby disrupting Peace and Order within the hometown of the Edo Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shuaibu.

According to the statement: "The thugs brandished all forms of fire arms during the rampaging celebration. The celebration ended up in a sorrowful mood as a youth was gun down and the body taking to the Santa Maria morgue. 

"And as gruesome as this incident was, yet there is no official statement by Edo Goverment to extend Condolence to Victim family or condemning the dastardly killing. Can this official Silence be Golden? When all happened few metres away from the cocoon of the Deputy Governor.

"We want to use this medium to call on the inspector general of police, commissioner of police in Edo state, SS Director in Edo State to investigate and bring to justice those behind the illicit possesion of fire arms, shootings and death of one person. Infact, justice must be done. 

"As a socio-political group, whose membership cut across the Sixty-Four wards of Edo-North, AFEMAI VANGUARD regrets the unwarranted death of that young man at Jattu, hence we call on relevant security agencies not to sweep it under the carpet, as it may spark political emotions and transfer of aggression ahead EDO 2020. A stitch in time will save nine"
