Ikeja High Court sentences RCCG Pastor to death for killing wife

A Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor has been sentenced to death by hanging for stabbing his wife, Titilayo to death by Ikeja High Court Lagos.

The judgement was delivered by Justice Lateefat Okunu in a two hour judgement. The Judge said based on incontrovertible evidences before her it shows clearly that Mr. Akolade Arowolo was the one who killed his wife Titilayo in their matrimonial home.

One of the Prosecutorsl Prof. Obafunwa, pathologist said the deceased was given 76 knife stab,the autopsy report revealed.

Meanwhile Mr. Akolade Arowolo had told the Court that wife was possessed and she inflicted herself with wounds. He debunked the accusation that he killed his wife.

Titilayo worked with Skype Bank whilst Mr.Akolade worked.

But in the evidence provided to the Court in form of forensic report by Prof. John Oladapo Obafunwa, the deceased had wounds in her right eye,the left eye, the chest and in the collar bone. He said there is no way the deceased could have inflicted herself with such wounds.

Also present to witness in the Court are the members of the deceased family. 

They testified that Mr. Akolade Arowolo and his wife lived a cat and rat life. On several occasions we have settled quarrels between them, the deceased father testified. Their neighbours were also on ground to give testimony by Court on how the offender and his late wife used to fight virtually on daily basis.

After all the testimonies, the Judge said it has been established beyond doubt that Mr. Akolade Arowolo murdered Titilayo his wife and he is hereby sentenced to death by hanging.

Immediately after the ruling, Mr. Akolade bursted into uncontrollable tears and was shouting "Jesus have Mercy".
