COVID-19 Lockdown: Hoodlums kill police officer while enforcing curfew imposed by government in Auchi
Edo Edo State Police command has confirmed the attack on the Operatives of Auchi Police Command and gruesome murder of a Police Inspector, Felix Egbon on Friday at about 9PM.
According to statement released by the Police authority, a copy of which was made available to this blog, Inspector Felix Egbon and his Team were attacked with guns and other dangerous weapons by unknown hoodlums who emerged from the bush at Iyetse quarters in Auchi while enforcing COVID-19 Curfew imposed by the Federal Government from 6AM to 8PM.
This blog gathered that the Police officer died at the Auchi General Hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.
According to the Edo Police Public Relations Officer, Chide Nwabuzor, the Commissioner of Police in the State has ordered full investigation into the murder of the Police Inspector and solicits the assistance of sister security agencies, vigilante groups and hunters in the area in arresting the perpetrators of the evil cat.
The Command, however, reiterates its resolves to continually protects lives and property.
