COVID-19: How pregnant woman dies on her way to the hospital

A pregnant woman whose name was unknown on Thursday afternoon died at a Police checkpoint on her way to hospital for delivery at Ibiade in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of the State.

The woman who was being taken to the hospital on a motorcycle died at the checkpoint when police questioned the owner of the motorcycle why he should carry three people.

Angry youth in the area, however took her remains to the Abigi Divisional police Headquarters blaming the police for being responsible for her death.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmef the incident has said Police Officers were not responsibile for the death of the woman. The police officers were on official duty to enforce lockdown order in Ogun State. 

He says the motorcycle owner and other two people were stopped and questioned why they didn't obey sit at home order. Immediately they said they were going to hospital the Officers asked them to go, Police Spokesperson said
