Oshiomole commends Senate President's leadership

The All Progressive Congress (APC), led by its National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has paid a visit to the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan.


Comrade Oshiomhole, who said he was in his office to commend the Senate President's leadership of the National Assembly since its inauguration thanked the entire Senate including members of the PDP extraction for their patriotism.

Oshiomhole commended Senators of the APC, the PDP and YPP for the zeal shown in the screening of ministers and passage of the Deep Offshore Sharing Contract Amendment Bill.

He said the senators, irrespective of their party affliation put the interest of the nation before the interest of their parties. He particularly commended senators of the PDP for their cooperation with the leadership of the senate.

Responding, the President of the Senate, Distinguish Senator Ahmad Lawan thanked the NWC of the APC for the visit. He said the senate from the day of inauguration has decided to put party interest aside and that this is what is reflecting in the conduct of affairs in the senate.

Lawan said the passage of the Petroleum Sharing Contract Amendment Bill is just one of the many task before the senate. He said more bills like the PIB will be considered immediately after the passage of the budget.

He used the opportunity to reiterate the readiness of the Senate to pass the 2020 Appropriations Bill before the end of the year.

 In the meeting are principal officers of the Senate in the APC as well as some members of the APC NWC.
