Kebbi State Government holds Commemoration Event to celebrate Kebbi State At 28
The event was performed by H.E Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Executive Governor of Kebbi State at the State's Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin-Kebbi.
Governor Bagudu during his remarks expressed satisfaction at how far they have come stating fully well that they were aware that more works still needs to be done in certain areas in order to get to the promise land where everyone is a benefactor of improved livelihood as a result of economic prosperity.
Reciting a quote by Martin Luther King Jr: " the world is always undergoing a revolution, and leaders have to develop a better mental attitude so as to meet up with the revolution" he made reference to the poor level of education he experienced during his secondary school days in 1973, where only 20% of the total graduating class were able to further their education to the desired level and that drawing inspirations from that sad occurrence, he vowed to place premium on the educational sector in the state which so far has seen the enrollment of over 3000 students into various schools across the state and that he hopes upon completion of their education they would fill the vacuum of professional workers that the state is lacking in vital sectors of the economy which has been a great impediment to the developmental hierarchy and progression of the state.
Admitting satisfaction with the current state of rice production, he stated that the government is still trying to fully utilize the land use tenure system by fully converting all viable fertile grounds into full agricultural production grounds to ensure food security for national development, stating that no sector of the agricultural food chain is malnourished as just recently the government made available about N200 million in cash funding for fish farmers in the state to further boost their production in order to meet up with increasing demands been recorded.
On provision of basic amenities, Governor Bagudu stated that his government has embarked on massive roads constructions and rehabilitations across the state, the biggest ever recorded in the history of the state, which so far has eased transportation and logistics activities in the state resulting in improved economic growth and development.
Governor Bagudu made known of the system of internal government; the emiratism system of government, which he stated has brought a lot of good tidings despite the disparities in cultures of the individual Emirates while praying that God continually bless the rulers and grant them wisdom to handle the challenges they would be facing ahead effectively.
Finally, he congratulated everyone for witnessing the monumental day giving praises and thanks to Allah for sparing their lives to to see the day, he further thanked all the leaders from inception of Kebbi state up untill now, charging them to join the change mantra by giving constructive criticism and suggestions on how to move the state forward and coming onboard with the government on sensitive issues were they know their wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience would be needed.
