Nigerian Army Encounters Boko Haram Terrorists in Borno

Troops of Sector 3 Operation LAFIYA DOLE of the Nigerian Army, deployed at Mairari in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force while on routine patrol in Mairari and environs on Sunday 7 October 2018 encountered suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

A statement made available to Strategic Media by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chuckwu indicates that, member of the Boko Haram terrorists was neutralised while several others fled into nearby bushes with gunshot injuries during the encounter.

 Items recovered include: One AK47 rifle, Four  Magazines, One 36 Hand Grenade, 13 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Unfortunately, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force sustained gunshot wound and has since been evacuated to Sector 3 medical facility for attention.

The Nigerian Army advised the general public to report any suspicious movements or activities in their area to  security agency for prompt action.
