GOV. AMBODE DECORATES LAGOS TASK FORCE CHAIRMAN, EGBEYEMI, AS FEDERAL CHIEF


The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday, decorated the 'Spiritual White Lion' and Chairman of the state Task Force, Olayinka Egbeyemi, with his new rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

Assisting the governor in decorating Egbeyemi in Alausa, was the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edga Imohimi.
Egbeyemi was one of the beneficiaries of the recently released promotion list by the outgone Mike Okiro-led Police Service Commission (PSC).
Egbeyemi, who was appointed Chairman, Lagos State Task Force on March 10, 2016 by the Governor, studied Philosophy at the Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University). He obtained a Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Lagos State University (LASU).
Between August 15, 2002 and February 2004, Egbeyemi was at the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Kano State, where he was trained as a cadet Assistant Supretendent of Police (ASP).
He started his Police career at Aguda Police Station, Surulere, Lagos in 2004 as aTraffic Officer and later became the Administrative Officer for Elere Police Divisional headquarters, Agege.
He was deployed to Alausa Division as Crime Officer (1) and subsequently became Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DPPRO, Lagos State Command.
His excellent performance as DPPRO in Lagos, endeared him to the then Inspector-general of Police (IGP), Sir Mike Okiro (Rtd). He served as Personal Assistant/Staff Officer to Okiro and later became the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, where he resigned voluntarily for reasons best known to him
He attended several courses, both at home and abroad, among which were: Peace Support Operation and Anti-Terrorist Course at the Prestigious Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Unit (COESPU) in Italy; Combat Craft Operation at Gwazo, Bornu State. Leadership and Citizenship Training at Shere Hills, Jos, Plateau State. Aide-De-Camp (ADC) Induction Course at Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State in July 2011. Ad-Hoc duties include Joint Task Force (JTF) with the Military and DSS in Potiskum, Yobe and Kano states engaging insurgents in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
CSP Egbeyemi is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and had attended the IACP Conferences at Philadelphia, Florida, Chicago, and San-Diego in Califonia in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively in the United States of America.
He was promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) on June, 2018.
