We will sustain premium health care services in rural areas and urban centres- Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagud




Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu  on Friday, affirmed this while receiving members of the Nigerian Society of Neonatal Medicine led by the National President, Professor Chenyere as well as President Pediatrics Association of Nigeria, Professor Austin Onoigberale who called on him at the Government House Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu described the conference and scientific meeting which brought them to Kebbi State as the best that could help to the state where eminent professors and health personnel including health specialists from different parts of the world gathered to brain stone and assist the state to overcome some of its health challenges on how best to improve healthcare.

He welcomed advice, recommendations and strategies to move the health sector forward in the state with emphasis in maternal child health.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu told the delegates that State Government had hosted medical outreaches with experts from different parts of the world including United States of America, who provided treatment to thousands of patients from within and outside Nigeria.

In her remarks the wife of the Governor, Dr. Zainab Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended the team for bringing professionals to Kebbi State to improve upon neonatal and pediatrics medicine for the benefit of the people.

She said the government will continue to make use of their services in all fields of health related matters.
Also speaking the President of Nigeria Society of Neonatal, Professor Chinyere Ezenken and Professor Autins Onaigeberale of pediatrics gave assurance of the commitment of the associations to work collectively with the state on capacity building and enhancing healthcare in Kebbi State.

Others speakers were Professor Ifeomu Egbona, Dr. Bose Ademiran of Federal Ministry of Health Abuja, Professor William Ogabla elder and Dr. Badr Chaban consultant Neonatologist Imperial College, United Kingdom who expressed readiness to providing support and assistance to develop the health sector in Kebbi State.

They advised the state government to provide facilities, medical equipment and training of health personnel to sharpen their skill.
