Kastina to Establish Teaching Hospital

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State says the state government has concluded plans to establish a Faculty of Medicine and a Teaching Hospital at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina. Masari said that the measure became necessary in order to train more health personnel and promote healthcare delivery system at all levels in the state.
The governor made this known during the public presentation of the proposed state Teaching Hospital, on Saturday in Katsina. He said the government would make necessary funds available for the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and the teaching hospital. According to him, the state government is committed to bring healthcare delivery system to the door steps of the people through the establishment of the teaching hospital. “When the hospital is established, the people of the state will no longer travel to Zaria in Kaduna State or Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for treatment. Masari said the government had contacted some medical experts for their advice on how to establish the medical school and the teaching Hospital.
