PMB should reject gay marriage- Cleric

In this interview with Moshood Karim O, the General Overseer, Trumpet of Zion Ministry, Pastor Ikpotokun Sunday says President Muhammadu Buhari should not succumb to pressure to legalise gay marriage. Excerpt

You have been a pastor in this Ministry for some times now, what has been your experience so far?
I have been a pastor in the Ministry for about three years now. i think it has been wonderful. God has been faithful. and, being a student Ministry, we have a large number of youth her. I can say that we have up to 90% students here. it has been a blessing to the church.
Has a Student church, how has it impacted on your host community?
It has impacted positively on the people around here. Being a student church, many students in the area flock to the church principally because of the presence of God and the positive teachings from the church, for instance, the back of the church used to be a cemetery where initiation into occultic world were carried out. but since when this Ministry came into this area it has become a peaceful ground. So many people around this place have been influenced positively.
What is your greatest asset as a minister of God?
Well, God has been faithful. what I discovered along the line is that when you are faithful in God's service, God will be doing your work for you. In all the way round God has blessed me. before now, I was a tenant, but God has been gracious to me. I am now a house owner, I have all that I needed.
What is your view about legalization of gay marriage in the United States?
The issue of gay marriage is highly demonic. if you look at the nations of Sodom and Gomorrah, it was because of this same issue that God rained down fire and brimstone fro heaven to destroy the people that practised such act. we read in Romans 1:26, 27 and 32- Because they rejected god in their mind. god gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetite, men making love with men and women making love with women. verse 32 of that scriptures explicitly warn that those indulging in that practice are deserving of death, that is, spiritual death. So we the church of God have to kick against it. we are not surprise, it is one of the signs of the last days. in fact many things have been happening. so in these last days, I advise my fellow brethren to be prayerful. In the United States of America, many pastors are being arrested for not partaking in gay marriage. Jesus Christ said that in the last days, His followers will have tribulations but if they faithfully follow him, at the end he will give them the crown of life. i know a time will come when some of them will be killed because they refuse to partake in it. if they can endure to the end they will be saved by the Lord.
I am aware that the U.S President Barak Obama is proposing gay marriage to our new government; my advice is that president Buhari should not succumb to any pressure to legalise it. he should reject it. if America refused to help us, we shall receive help from God Almighty. we should not because they want to help us fight BokoHaram insurgency; we should now hurriedly ans sheepishly legalise gay marriage in the country. if we even accept, Nigeria's case might even be worse, If America refuse to help us. God will help us. besides, we have capable men and women in this country who can handle the task. just look at what happened during the last presidential election. people thought that there would be violence in the country, but the elections went peacefully and no violence. you see, God answers prayers. we are still going to pray and Almighty God will answer us.
As a father, how do you manage your family and the Ministry?
Well, I will say I am very happy to be in the ministry, because I have the opportunity to help many people. as a minister, I am also a civil servant working with the Auchi Polytechnic. I am happily married with three children. with that i am able to assist my family.
