Man indicted for "sucking" child's genital

Lagos- A 30 year-old unemployed man, Emeji Christopher, was yesterday charged before a Yaba chief Magistrates' court in lagos for allegely sucking the genitals of a child.
Emeji whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of indecent treatment of a child. He later pleaded not guilty to the charge.
But the prosecutor, Inspector rita Momoh, said that the accused committed the offence sometime in November 2014 at Jaja Hall toilet of the Unive
The Prosecutor said the accused tricked the nine year-old into one of the toilets in the hall where he sucked his genitals.
She said: " The police have been on the lookout for the accused following a report by his parents.
"The accused was only apprehended recently after he was seen roaming the university aimlessly."
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), noted that the offence contravened section 135 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.
The offense carries a penalty of seven years jail term.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. P. A Adeeyo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till October 12 for substantive trial.
