Bandits Rob Man of Christmas foodstuff and drinks on bike

Our reporter

Bandits have intercepted a motorcyclist transporting Christmas provisions to his village, Gidan Abe, in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday.

The victim had purchased a bag of rice, drinks, and condiments from Katari market in preparation for the holiday season. However, as he made his way back home around 5:23 pm, armed bandits riding motorcycles blocked his path and forcibly took the items.

Despite the tense encounter, the bandits neither harmed the man nor abducted him, choosing instead to escape with the stolen food supplies.

A local leader speaking to Daily Trust confirmed the incident: “I received a report this morning at Katari about bandits on motorcycles who seized Christmas foodstuff from a man heading to Gidan Abe. It’s unsettling that such acts are becoming commonplace.”

This incident adds to growing concerns about insecurity in rural communities, as residents fear the unchecked activities of bandits may escalate during the festive period.
