Nigeria 0-1 Canada: Super Falcons’ Impressive 15-Game Unbeaten Run Ends in Spain

In a tightly contested match in Spain, Nigeria's Super Falcons saw their impressive 15-game unbeaten streak come to an end with a narrow 0-1 loss to Canada.

This match served as the final preparation for both teams before heading to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Nigeria’s head coach Randy Waldrum fielded his strongest lineup in a 4-4-2 diamond formation, aiming to maintain their unbeaten run. However, Canada started brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute. Despite creating several chances, Nigeria was unable to find an equalizer.

Their best opportunity came in the second half when Echegini's sweeping shot hit the post, leaving the opposing goalkeeper grasping at thin air.

The Super Falcons will now turn their attention to the Olympic Games, where they will begin their campaign in eight days with a crucial match against Brazil in Bordeaux. Following this, they will face Spain and the Korea Republic in what promises to be a challenging group stage.
