Why Cultism will bring you nothing other than death, disgrace, shame and frustration

As a Nigerian especially an edolite, it breaks my heart to hear of the rampant killings of people in Benin city and environs that are cult related. What breaks my heart more is the number of innocent persons dying daily due to these clashes.
As a journalist, I have had interview sessions with different cult groups, many of whom are top executives of their sect, at the end of each interview I always asked, " Do you have any regrets joining a cult group" no matter their rank and status in the business, the answer has always been a surprising "Yes" when asked further if they would love their children or loved ones to join, majority of the time, I have received a shocking "No" as response.
Then the question is why join?. I am speaking to the youths and intending devotees, you actually loose your security, peace, and freedom when you join a cult. Infact, joining a cult is like imprisoning oneself, there is nothing to be envied in this act, it is a total distraction, waste of time and complete disrespect to oneself.
I have lost friends and close family members to this evil menace, and trust me, the stories and impact of their demise have always been devastating...
Imagine the numbers of killings these few days, is this how you want to end your life? People are thinking of how to make ends meet by engaging in meaningful endeavors that will sustain them, you are thinking of joining a cult group, that will benefit you nothing but false hopes.
Cultism is overrated sir, there's nothing other than death, disgrace, shame and frustration in it...
You can stand your ground, and still stay relevant, elegant, gallant and save your life...
To all the innocent fallen youths, may you rest well and to those who are not innocent, may you reap all that you have sown here and in the after life.
Shun cultism, shun violence...
