Dowry: Marriage is pay as you go in certain places in Nigeria- Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan stated this in an update on his verified Social media handle.

According to him: "If you marry from certain places, the bride price you will pay is just a down payment. But they won't tell you. After marriage, if your in-law has a birthday, you pay. If they die, you pay.

"If they are sick, you pay. If they give birth, you pay. If they marry, you pay. If they are admitted into school, you pay. If they graduate from school, you pay. If they visit you, you pay. If you visit them, you pay. That is why I laugh when some Nigerians complain of police extortion.

"Go and marry from certain places, and you will understand that Police still dey learn work! To those people, marriage is Pay as You Go! Even in death, they will come for your properties."
