SWAN President, Aigbona Greets Christians At Christmas

President of Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Comrade Ahmed Aigbona, has felicitated with Christians as they mark Christmas, which is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The SWAN President in his Christmas message states: “I felicitate with all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year’s Christmas."

In the statement jointly signed by the President and the Secretary General of the Association, Comrade Mike Oboh, explained that Christmas celebration is an opportunity to reflect on the imagery of the humble, symbolic and divine birth of 'Jesus Christ thousands of years ago in Bethlehem, Judea, and the message of hope, compassion, salvation, reconciliation, forgiveness and peace that He (Jesus Christ) embodies and conveys to all.

Meanwhile, Aigbona urged Nigerians to exchange gifts, pray for peace and unity of the country, while also saying that Nigerians should ensure that they adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines as pronounced by the relevant agencies as they celebrate Christmas

Acording to him, Nigerians must ensure that their actions were predicated on peace, love and unity which are the virtues needed to rebuild the country.

Aigbona noted that such virtues were necessary if Nigeria must progress to the expected level.

The SWAN President again reiterated the commitment of the Association to support all stakeholders in the industry. " The National Secretariat of SWAN is using this opportunity on behalf of the Oyo SWAN to thank Absolute Success Travels for its readiness to sponsor members of the Chapter on a free ride to Japan for Tokyo Olympics next year.

" We also applauded the collaboration of Splash Estate with Ogun SWAN on housing scheme for our members," Aigbona explained.
