Hacker Guessed Trumps Twitter Password Correctly > MAGA2020

 

A hacker and cybersecurity researcher logged into Pres. Trump’s Twitter account in October by successfully guessing Trump’s password, ‘maga2020!,’ on the fifth try, according to Dutch prosecutors.

The Dutch hacker, Victor Gevers, said it was actually the second time he’d accessed Trump’s Twitter — he claims the first time occurred 6 years ago when he accurately guessed the password ‘yourefired.’

Though hacking is a crime in the Netherlands, Dutch officials said that they will not press charges. Officials said Gevers reported the hack and was practicing ‘responsible disclosure,’ simply warning how easy it could be to log into Trump’s Twitter. Gevers told the BBC that his act was to display ‘vulnerabilities in the Internet.’ Gevers encouraged the use of two-factor authentication in a tweet.

The White House and Twitter maintain that Gevers never had access to Trump’s account.
