Empowerment: Edo deputy gov hails Council Boss

Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, has commended the efforts of Owan West Local Government Chairman, Hon Frank Ilaboya, for all his initiatives towards youth empowerment in the local government.

Rt Hon. Shaibu made the comment when the Owan West Boss presented him a copy of the Master Plan for the Youth Foundation.

"I am quite impressed with this package, it's highly commendable. I am happy that some of you are thinking outside the box.

"You need to, because it cannot be business as usual. You cannot continue to rely on the government for everything. You need to explore the many potentials in your various  councils. Good job."!

The Owan West Youth Foundation, a package designed to offer flourishing future for the Youths of Owan West, is due for launch on Wednesday December, 16, 2020.

The main feature of the package is to engage youths between the ages of 18 and 40 years.

According to Hon Ilaboya, "we cannot afford to fold our arms and see the future of our youths waste away.

"Our duty,  as those given the opportunity to serve, is to find ways to positively engage them for a better future.

"To me, human capital development is one of the cornerstone of this administration, and we will continue to pursue this with all vigour.

" The level of creativity we have seen in this youths is infectious. As we speak, two of our youths have spearheaded the production of Nollywood films in the local government. The quality of these films compares with top ones done in Lagos. Others into music are equally doing great.

"With the type of enabling environment we are providing, this Foundation will just be a catalyst for these boys and girls to explode. Mark my words, Owan West Youths will shock the world in no distant time." 

Owan West Youth Foundation is currently receiving rave reviews in the media as a unique response to positively engage and re- direct the youths in the local government.
