Showdown As 17 Members Of EDHA Hold Plenary Session In Undisclosed Location

 

Edo State governor and guber candidate of the People's Democractic Party, Godwin Obaseki is set for an epic showdown as 17 members of the Edo State House Of Assembly are currently sitting in an undisclosed location.

Earlier today the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon Frank Okiye was impeached and replaced by Hon Victor Sabor Tiger Edoror as the speaker.

Immediately after his emergence, the House entered into a close-door session.

Definitely, this can not be the best of news for Godwin Obaseki as the implications of Hon Edoror emerging as the new Speaker is dire.

Coming days would see renewed fireworks on the eligibility of Obaseki remaining as the Executive Governor of Edo State.

Earlier before now, Obaseki was ruling the state with a minority of the lawmakers with Hon Frank Okiye refusing to inaugurate fourteen members-elect.

The fourteen members-elect were successfully inaugurated today and they have commenced plenary already.

As we speak 19 members of the House of Assembly have affirmed their membership of the APC and pledge their loyalty to the party thereby dumping Obaseki and his new party the PDP.

This is indeed serious as the clerk of the House was present alongside the mace.
