NSIP: NPower volunteer commits suicide over disengagement news

A Volunteer (name withheld) of the National Social Investment Scheme otherwise known as NPower on Sunday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital has committed suicide over purported news of disengagement of beneficiaries of the Scheme.

This blog learnt that, the deceased who was being owed several backlog of unpaid stipends slipped into severe depression when the disengagement news was announced by the Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Sadiya Farouq.

A Facebook user, Fulani Ado who shared the picture of the suicide on Social media said that the the NPower volunteer has been complaining of how tough life has been to him particurlarly with several efforts he made to get NPower management to pay his stipend arrears.
