Edo Council Boss dumps APC, vows to support Obaseki to the end

The Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council in Edo State Comrade John Osi Akhigbe has dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress to join PDP with a vow to support Governor Obaseki’s re-election.

He made the declaration as he was being received into the PDP at the party’s Secretariat in Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area Edo State.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary on Saturday, Mr. Ibrahim Umoru, the Etsako Central Council boss joined PDP with his followers across the Local Government including the Commissioner for Youth and Special Duties, Hon Damian Lawani, Council Vice Chairman, Rtn. Kevin Ambrose Akhigbe, Ambassador Sado Theophilus, Councillors, Supervisors, SA's and SSA's to make the dream of Governor Godwin Obaseki second tenure a reality.

Etsako Central PDP Chairman, Hon. Kasim Abdulkareem during his brief receiving speech described Akhigbe as a man who always respect the party in all circumstances.  He said that history is about to be repeated adding that Governor Obaseki’s re-election is sure and not negotiable.

The Council Chairman in his speech at the PDP Secretariat said that he has come with truth as he was known for adding that they are all in PDP with Governor Obaseki and his deputy Philip Shaibu with the mission to scale up his re-election.  Now, I am in PDP with my followers and I am here to continue what I am known for, the Council Boss said.

He assured the party of his fearlessness and transparency as a party man. He said PDP has been a party with large population of followers adding that it is a party that is strong enough to put up a good fight and ensure that democracy is not trampled on in Edo State.

Akhigbe said his name still remains “Akpogu”; it has not changed, you need peace, you get peace.  “Anyhow you need it, you will get it”, he said.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of party membership Card and flags to the Council Chairman and Others.
