Money Ritual: 3 Friends, Herbalist, Nabbed With Fresh Human Hand in Ogun

From Felix Mordi

The secret deal between three friends in Owode-Yewa, a border community in the Yewa-south Local Government Area of Ogun State, to crookedly shore up their living standards, has turned round to hunt them.

The three friends, Mathew Idosu, John Feyisetan and Samuel Adegbola, residents of Owode-Yewa, after several deliberations on how to wriggle themselves out of poverty, took their supplications for change of fortune to a 40-year-old herbalist in Idiroko.
Michael Itomu, who assured them of success, provided that they could source for fresh human hand.

Since then, the desperation to get the 'material' occupied the three friends' minds until it dawned on one of them, Mathew Idosu, who recalled having a family friend in Abeokuta, whom he rightly believed would be helpful in that regards.

Mathew relayed this discovery to his partners and got their nod to approach the said friend.

Against the wise saying that, "Do not count your chickens before they are hatched', and in an apparent conviction of a done deal, Mathew promised the Abeokuta friend a reward of One Million Naira, that was not in hand.

True to Mathew's belief, the man in Abeokuta, together with two other friends, made sure they got the hand and presented to them, a development that soon caused disagreement amongst them.

The inability to redeem the pledge of One Million Naira almost immediately the hand was delivered, piqued the providers, who had to manhandle Mathew's allies, took them to a bush and beat them blue, black before their release.

Taking it as an arrangement between Mathew, who did not taste of the beatings, and the tormentors, the two accomplices took up fight against Mathew, so much that the secret of the whole episode filtered out to neighbours who alerted policemen attached to Idiroko Division.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a press release made available to newsmen that, "Upon the information, the DPO, Idiroko Division, CSP Opebiyi Sunday, detailed his detectives, in collaboration with men of the So-Safe Corps, to ambush the suspects, an effort that led to the arrest of the three friends at Owode-Yewa and, eventually, the herbalist in the early hour of Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

According to Oyeyemi, "Preliminary investigation revealed that it was Mathew idosu who contacted a family friend of his in Abeokuta, who provided the hand alongside two others who are now at large.

"On delivering the hand, they demanded for the agreed one million naira but the money was not readily available, this led to serious scuffle between them and they angrily took away the duo of Samuel Adegbola and John Feyisetan to a bush where they thoroughly beat them before they were released on 17th of may 2020.

"It was the action of those who supplied the hand that made the whole secret to be leak, which eventually led to their arrest", the PPRO added.

"The fresh human hand has been taken to Idiroko General Hospital for preservation", the police image maker stated, adding that, the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.

The CP, according to the release, has also directed that the other members of the syndicate, who provided the hand be hunted for and brought to justice.
