COVID-19: Burundi asks WHO top officials to leave the country
Burundian Government has ordered the expulsion of the country's top World Health Organisation Representative and three others experts coordinating coronavirus response, declared the WHO officials personal non grata. This was disclosed in a letter emanated from the Burundi Foreign Ministry dated 12th May 2020.and sent to WHO Headquarters Africa.
The affected WHO Officials are: Doctor Walter Kazadi Mulambo, Doctor Jean Pierre Mulunda Nkata, Ruhana Mirindi Bisimwa and Prof. Daniel Tarzy.
Speaking on anonymity, one of the Burundian Health Workers, said "They are expelled and the Health Minister has totally excluded WHO accusing it of ,,unacceptable interference in its management of coronavirus".
This is coming in few days to Burundi election on 20th May, 2020.
