2020 Children's Day: Edo Council boss tasks political leaders on policies towards improving lives

The Executive Chairman of Etsako Central Local Government Council of Edo State, Mr. John Osi Akhigbe has called on political leaders across the country to formulate policies geared towards improving the lives of the people especially the young generation who are the future of the country.

Mr. Akhigbe made this call on Wednesday as he felicitates with children over the celebration of their day.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ibrahim Umoru, the Council Chairman stated that children are the future leaders of tomorrow and will be a happier one for the children of today when they are properly brought up by their parents and cultured by the society.

Chairman Akhigbe encouraged the children not to see this period of Covid-19 as an impediment to their access to quality education rather, they should be positive minded and do their best to stay safe.  He advised children to observe social distance in all their activities as well as frequent hands washing and wearing of face mask in other to protect them from being infected with the viral disease.

The Council Chairman prayed for a prosperous future for the children and called on every Nigerian family, members of the society as well as the government to evolve policies that are channeled towards improving the lives of our children who are by effect the future of our country.
