Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT Corridor, Ready for Use in May 2020. ~Sanwo-Olu


The Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, during an inspection tour on Sunday 12th, January 2020 said in a statement that the Oshodi to Abule Egba BRT corridor project will be completed and ready for use in May this year 2020 with 200 buses.

The Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT corridor was conceived by the previous administration of Ambode, the completion of the BRT corridor is in tandem to reiterate the continuity road map projection of the state migration of urban development and mega city achievement to ensure 22 million Lagosians enjoy seamless alternative road transportation across the city.


The Governor disclosed this during an inspection tour of the BRT infrastructure yesterday. He stated further that the BRT corridor will be launched with 200 buses.

“As part of the inspection of ongoing projects, I visited the Abule-Egba-Oshodi BRT corridor. The project was conceived with the intention to address transportation & congestion challenges. We are back on the project & have told the contractor to speed up the pace of work.


“The work on this corridor will significantly bring relief and reduce traffic congestion.” Gov. Sanwo-Olu said.

In conclusion, Mr. Sanwo-Olu said it’s administration envisage that the Oshodi - Abule Egba BRT corridor phase which is already at 75% ratio, will be fully completed by May, 2020 while the Abule-Egba to Sango second phase BRT corridor road project work will commence simultaneously after the completion of the first phase of Oshodi to Abule Egba BRT corridor in May.
