Fire outbreak at Tejuosho

There was a fire outbreak yesterday at Number 11, Tejuosho Street, Behind Tejuosho Market which consumed the first floor  of a one storey residential building with lock up shops.

The Fire which started at 3.30pm was due to Electric Power Surge in a fabric loaded room at the upper floor.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA)  and the Federal Fire Services were dispatched to the scene of the incident to carry out Strategic Fire combating measure that ensured no loss of life and also stop the fire from affecting the ground floor and adjourning structures.

The joint inspection carried out by LASEMA and Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA) officers revealed that the effect of the fire was heavy such that a section naturally collapsed at the upper floor.

It was noted that the structure was defective with no columns and was sinking even before the fire.

The distressed building has been totally brought down to ground zero level as the place is now safe from further disaster.

The site has been cordoned off while security personnel ate it on ground to maintain law order.
