FLASHBACK: You Don't Have Monopoly Of Jesus Christ, Buhari Tells Bakare

‎Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Latter brought back past memories and some of his best moments with President Buhari during their work together in 2011 presidential campaign. Here’s what the pastor said about General Buhari.

"After a visit to Kaduna before I accepted to be his running mate, he asked his PERSONAL driver to drive me to the home of  Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The driver asked me to prayer for him and I told him straight away I couldn't pray the islamic prayer. I used to be a Muslim but now I'm a pastor. Do you want me to pray for you in the name of Jesus? And he said; Sir, I am a Christian and I've been driving general Buhari for 10yrs.

"One day, after I've accepted to be his running mate, we were both at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel  and as soon as I got to the door of his suite, the door was opened for me and his two private guards said to me, Daddy, you're welcome. And I looked back and said, that sounds like a Christian because it is the Christians that called their pastor Daddy. I asked, why did you call me Daddy? And they said because your our pastor, Father in the Lord. I was totally shocked because this man - Buhari surrounds himself with Christians and yet they call him an islamic fundamentalist."

"In his career, within the army, he would not allow Christians to come for official duty on Sundays.‎"

"When we finished our flag off in Kaduna, we were so stressed that day after battling with crowd I have never seen before in my life. So we stressed out and we got to his living room, he was about to go and change his dress, as he stood up, he staggered and he said; Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I said what?! General, I thought Jesus is a swear word and Buhari looked at me and said; Pastor, you don't have monopoly of Jesus Christ."

"That was my personal experience with Buhari and I call God to witness it because it happened so!‎"
