Wife of the Kaduna State Governor Visits Obstetric Fistula Patients
The Wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hajia Aisha Ummi Garba El-Rufai together with the UNFPA Team visited the patients suffering from Obstetric Fistula at the Hajia Gambo Sawaba Hospital in Zaria, Kaduna.
They show the patients who are being operated on at the hospital undergo vocational training after they have recovered, to enable them have become entrepreneurs so they can stand on their own.
Her Excellency Hajia Aisha El-Rufai took time to talk to each patient suffering from this illness, she emphasized on how to prevent further occurrence, she pleaded with them to be patient with what they are going through.
Her Excellency urged the general public to stop the stigmatization, stressing that these patients need all the support they can get. She encouraged pregnant women to go for anti natal clinics and rush to the hospital as soon as labour starts.
She appreciated the efforts of the health workers for their strength and empathy they show to the patients.
