Petition against N-Power Management

Sir,
PETITION AGAINST N-POWER SCHEME MANAGEMENT OVER UNPAID STIPEND
With deep sense of humility and respect to your person and the exalted
office you are occupying. We write this petition to bring to your
notice the neferious activities of the N-Power Scheme Management. This
is necessary as we sensed a calculated attempt to rob us of our
entitlements.
The N-Power Scheme is an initiative of the federal government with a
view to providing job opportunity for unemployed Nigerian graduates in
order to sanitized the nation of pipeline vandalism, cultism,
kidnapping, robbery and other vices associated with unemployment among
the youths.
However, under the management of N-Power Scheme, we have observed with
dismay sharp practises and mismanagement of the programme.
Since the commencement of the programme, payment of stipend to
beneficiaries is being done haparzardly and in some cases
beneficiaries are not paid at all, fourth month into the scheme.
This ugly action on the part of the N-Power management has exposed the
volunteers to unnecessary pressure, psychological trauma and lack,
making them susceptible to corruption as their way out since their
stipends are not paid. Many now find it difficult to meet their needs.
Recently, media reports have it that two N-Power beneficiaries in
south-east Nigeria slumped and died at their various Places of Primary
Assignment(schools where they were posted) as a result of distress and
psychological trauma occasioned by irregularities in the payment of
stipends. How many more will die because of lack of money to care for
their needs/health?
Sir, some of us who took time to travel to N-Power office in Abuja
were not attended to as the officials there claimed ignorant of mode
of payment. We see this as a calculated attempt to deny us our right
to wages. For the fourth month running we have been working without
payment.
By this petition, we appeal to the President to constitute a panel of
inquiry to investigate the activities of N-Power management with a
view to unravelling the cause(s) of delayed and unpaid stipends
despite the fact that many of the Beneficiaries were verified and posted
to their PPA by their respective state governments. If found to be
negligence or compromised, sanctioned accordingly.
